Call For Submission: "A Moment In The Sun" For Vidukon 2023

Vidukon approaches, and this year I'm curating a vidshow!

A Moment In The Sun: Minor Characters Take Centre Stage

The theme of this vidshow is fairly self-explanatory: vids about minor characters who don't get a ton of love or attention in canon. What constitutes a "minor character" is up to your discretion; generally, think characters who don't have a dedicated storyline of their own, or don't get much solo screentime. Think Grace in Interview With The Vampire or Evelyn in Our Flag Means Death. Obviously the line between "minor character" and "supporting character" can be blurry; it can also be challenging to vid for characters without a ton of screentime, but that's the fun of it! Comment below to submit any vids you think might fit the theme, by yourself or others. If a vid ends up making the rough cut, I will contact the vidder to make sure I have access to a copy. Rec freely, and have fun!

Ooh, excited for this! I love character study vids and am always impressed when people turn their attention to a less-focused-on character. I think most of the recs I have might be not quite minor enough, but here are a few vids I have liked:

Get Me Bodied by anoel (The Fifth Element, Ruby Rhod)
A Bad Dream by sdwolfpup (Hard Core Logo, John Oxenberger the bass player)
Home by seekingferret (Space Sweepers, Bubs)
Learn to Let Go by BeatriceEagle (TNG, Ro Laren)
Landsailor by skygiants (A:tLA, Jinora)
Sway by cosmic_llin (Huge, Alistair) (who is almost definitely too big a part of the ensemble but this vid is so lovely)

Oh, and I was also pretty fascinated by this one I came across when I was looking for vids for a latinx characters in sci fi show: Deep Red Bells by chaila, about "Unnamed Latina Woman" in The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
